I thank Pier Carlo for introducing me to this technology because since that day he showed me a video on YouTube I have never stopped wondering how it could be useful to me in Proximity Marketing projects. Watch this video and everything will be clearer to you!

First of all, what is it?
It is not my aim to talk to you about the technical aspects. Rather, I would like to focus on the User Experience and the commercial potential, the innovations that will certainly drive "augmented reality" in the sector in which I am most interested, Proximity Marketing.

How could it be used in Proximity Marketing?
At first glance it would seem like an evolution of the virtual reality that we were used to seeing over ten years ago but if we immersed ourselves in viewing the dozens of examples we find on the internet we would understand that we were faced with a revolutionary application that can be integrated into many common applications. First of all, it does not require specific hardware. In the examples currently viewable, everything is concentrated in a webcam and server-side software capable of identifying an object and rendering a virtual scene around it which has the advantage over other systems of being part of the user context. Everything comes to mind and my mind quickly runs towards the most disparate applications, starting from the car windshield and ending with entertainment. All we have to do is try!
